Date: 20020827 Who: Bønna (Bjørn Tore), The Dane (Per) & EvilDuck (Tom) Where: Brekko Map: Brekko is marked with a big red dot. Driving home from Oltedal, I asked The Dane if he knew where the road on the other side of this lake led to, and he told me that it led to a place called Brekko. He went on to tell us that Brekko housed the most amazing church, and we ought to go visit it some day. Trusting the word of the elders, we went there two days later, and it was worth the trip. I personally would like to build me a house in the same style, and perhaps in the same kind of surroundings. It was beautiful. The Dane is a walking database when it comes to usefull information about the area we live in, so he of course knew that we could use the huge grills placed outside the church. Thus we brought food and had dinner up in the mountains, outside Brekko Church. It's funny though, a man from Denmark knows more about my neighbourhood than I do! :) To browse through the pictures with comments, follow this link! |

| 104 005 | The most important thing first, so we fired up the barbecue haha | ||
| 99 657 | This is the entrance of Brekko church. The church isn't painted, it's tarred. Now there's a shitty weekend job for a student. | ||
| 95 152 | Looking for that perfect postcard motif, came pretty darn close here I think. | ||
| 92 570 | I dunno, perhaps even closer? You be the judge. | ||
| 78 497 | Just inside the church entrance. Here you see the back of the organ, they store their hymn books there. | ||
| 80 605 | Father Bønna is conducting todays sermon up on the pulpit. | ||
| 73 560 | The cross behind the pulpit. It's made from glass and steel, actually looking quite pretty. | ||
| 68 454 | Same as above, just not close up. Actually, here you can see the whole altar with the baptismal font and everything. | ||
| 97 210 | Bønna is real proud, he found the light switch. Good boy, Bønna! | ||
| 90 248 | I just love the way the chose to light up the room, just plain lightbulbs hanging at uneven levels. Makes them look like little stars shining above our heads. Nice. | ||
| 75 165 | A couple of plaques on the floor. They just gives some information on when the church was built and when they started using it for sermons. | ||
| 69 751 | Brother EvilDuck had an improper shirt on, so he had to censor it during the sermon. | ||
| 74 968 | Showing off my total lack of respect for anything holy. What a dork I am. | ||
| 100 595 | The camera has a timer, Bønna set the timer and then ran towards the bench so that he could be in the picture too. Well you are in the picture Bønna, just didn't quite have the speed to reach the bench. Go Bønna, go! haha | ||
| 101 618 | My turn to set the timer, think I was quicker than Bønna? The camera wasn't any closer btw, I just used the zoom function. | ||
| 59 526 | We believe in tradition, thus we had to do the old "Smoking the sausage" joke. I swear, we are really funny in real life, these are not special effects! | ||
| 140 860 | So how do you like your doggie pooh, over easy? These "rollerburgers" look icky, but they taste good! | ||
| 76 567 | Back to searching for that perfect postcard motif, it really is a beautiful place. | ||
| 87 235 | Here comes a series of church pictures from all angles. If you are not into church spotting, then perhaps you'd like to just skip along down the list. | ||
| 86 035 | The church seen from the backside. | ||
| 68 264 | The church seen from a slightly different angle. | ||
| 148 905 | The church seen from the path just outside the fence. | ||
| 150 801 | The Dane & Bønna looking up a hill from the pathway. | ||
| 95 311 | The church from a slight distance. Trying to get the whole building in one shot without too many trees being in the way. Not an easy task. | ||
| 150 571 | This hill is used for skiing in the winter, and pasturage in the summer. I wanted the picture to show the sheep grazing there, and the bumps that makes skiing exciting. Neither really shows in the picture, so sue me! | ||
| 76 832 | This is how we treat the handicapped in Norway, just have a look at this handicap toilet. haha | ||
| 77 366 | Oh so that's the real handicap toilet! | ||
| 125 408 | And for the ladies - a butt-shot! Bønna to the left, and The Dane to the right. The Dane is currently available for dating, should anyone out there fancy a little danish hehe | ||
| 132 064 | I tried to get ahead so I could take a shot of The Dane and Bønna as they walk down the path. It almost killed me, and I am very glad you can't hear my breathing here. :) | ||
| 133 695 | The Dane pulling up his pants, and they are both laughing at me cause I am performing CPR on myself after the run. Evil bastards! | ||
| 101 682 | We took the scenic route. | ||
| 130 895 | I really wish I could recall what I was trying to show with this picture. I must have been unconscious. | ||
| 85 031 | The route we walked, took us all the way around this lake. It truely is scenic, isn't it? | ||
| 132 620 | Again for the ladies - Bønna enjoying a nice pee in nature. Look, no hands! hehe | ||
| 155 243 | Now, if you shake it for more than 5 minutes, is it masturbation? | ||
| 90 423 | If you're drunk enough, the mountain in the background looks like a toad's head. Or is it just me? | ||
| 141 050 | If you look real closely, you won't find anything interesting in this picture. | ||
| 82 841 | I never give up, still looking for that perfect postcard motif. Could this be it? | ||
| 140 436 | Now Bønna is pissed cause I am taking a picture of the bridge twisting cause of his weight. He's yelling "Get over here and I will kick your butt!" and I answer "No way chubby, come get me!" | ||
| 142 110 | Of course he is too lazy to come get me, so he is all smiles again hehe | ||
| 138 868 | Postcard? No? Damn. | ||
| 114 783 | Another one for the ladies. :) Bet that by now they regret handing me the camera. | ||
| 122 650 | Bønna telling me to stop taking pics of his behind, muahaha! | ||
| 163 745 | Bønna forced me to take a picture showing that the bridge was twisted, even when he wasn't on it. | ||
| 66 246 | Postcard? No? Oh well, if you wear 3D spectacles you can see Sophia Loren doing a nude pose in this picture. | ||
| 150 516 | On this little island I will build my castle. Hmm maybe I could at least fit one tower? No? Damn. | ||
| 127 936 | In the foreground you have the old bridge. In the background you have the new bridge, with Bønna and The Dane on it. And it doesn't even look twisted or bent! | ||
| 132 314 | A close up of the old bridge, and yes I am standing in the middle of the river to take this picture. | ||
| 131 013 | Another picture of the old bridge and the new one, this time without Bønna and The Dane. | ||
| 91 965 | No driving allowed, unless you are in a wheel chair (and need to take a dump in the dustbin). | ||
| 74 156 | "Living children are playing here" uhm where's the dead ones then? No sign for them, must be careful not to hit one! | ||
| 19 307 | Driving down from Brekko we spotted a paraglider gliding high up over the mountains. It looked really peaceful. | ||
